The Jefferson Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight defeat. They were beaten by Beamer 85-53. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jefferson in their matchups with Beamer: they've now lost nine in a row.
Jefferson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jakob Bolli, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Bolli has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Charles Yancy, who scored 13 points along with two blocks.
Jefferson dropped their record down to 1-16 with that loss, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Beamer, their victory bumped their record up to 17-3.
Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Beamer, they will head out on the road to take on Stadium at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Stadium knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Beamer likes a good challenge.
