The Barron Collier Cougars will challenge the Bonita Springs Bullsharks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Barron Collier 3.4, Bonita Springs 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Barron Collier is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Naples a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won nine games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Barron Collier got a great performance from Andrew Maroney as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Maroney a new career-high.
At the plate, Jonathan Hernandez Carr and Casey Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Hernandez Carr went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Johnson scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Hernandez Carr has posted since back in February. Mason Humphrey was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bonita Springs, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over Estero on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Landon Ide made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and one double. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.
Ide wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Derek Hernandez Jr, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Bonita Springs pushed their record up to 16-10 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Barron Collier, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-6.
