Lassen is 2-8 against Gridley since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Grizzlies will take on the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Lassen is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Central Valley 8-2. The victory continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

Jaxon George made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He is becoming a predictor of Lassen's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 7-1 (and 9-10 when he doesn't). George was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Garate, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Gridley waltzed into their game on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 14-1 win.
Like Lassen, Gridley also got a great game from a two-way player: Garrett Francis. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Francis has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Eli Punzo was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Branson Busch, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Gridley pushed their record up to 19-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Lassen, their record now sits at 16-11.
Lassen came out on top in a nail-biter against Gridley in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Grizzlies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
