The Idea Academy Titans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 68-11 victory over IDEA North Mission. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Idea Academy has managed all season.
Idea Academy had a senior duo take command as Layla Perez dropped a double-double on 29 points and 14 steals and Juliza Lopez scored 19 points along with nine steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Perez has scored at least 25% of Idea Academy's points. Cloe Bernal was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Idea Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. As for IDEA North Mission, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Idea Academy will be home for the holidays to greet IDEA Pharr at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. IDEA North Mission will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Idea Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 26, 2024.
