After two games on the road, Williston Northampton is heading back home. They will take on The Cheshire Academy Cats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Williston Northampton didn't have too much trouble with Buckingham Browne & Nichols on the road as they won 64-49.
Meanwhile, Cheshire Academy put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Phillips Academy, posting a 42-14 win at home. Cheshire Academy's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Cheshire Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shawn Mills led the charge by rushing for 89 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Luke Reynolds made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Williston Northampton's victory was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 4-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.4 points per game. As for Cheshire Academy, their victory on Saturday bumped their record up to 4-0.
Williston Northampton barely slipped by Cheshire Academy in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, winning 15-14. Will Williston Northampton repeat their success, or does Cheshire Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
