1A Nisqually - Division 2 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Charles Wright extended the longest winning streak in 1A Nisqually - Division 2 this week by beating Vashon Island, 44-20. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Tarriers.
Cedar Park Christian took down Bellevue Christian 50-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Connor Johnson threw for 42 yards and one touchdown and ran for 90 yards in the win.
Fritz Jacobson put up the best numbers through the air as Charles Wright bested the Pirates. He finished with a total of four completions for 55 yards and one touchdown. Jacobson's favorite target this week was Nick Ho, who caught one pass for 24 yards.
Daniel Watts was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 148 yards as the Eagles beat the Vikings. Teammate Rickman added to the ground attack by rushing for 101 yards.
Rickman was the best wideout in the league this week as Cedar Park Christian defeated Bellevue Christian. Rickman tallied one reception for 42 yards. Shane Rhodes helped Cedar Park Christian's passing attack out by catching one ball for 37 yards.
The Tarriers' Jacobson and Beau Iverson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 1A Nisqually - Division 2 in both passing and receiving yards. Jacobson has thrown for 482 yards this season, while Iverson, a 6-foot-8 receiver, has nine catches for 189 yards. Chimacum's Melvin Thornton leads the league in rushing yards with 792.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Cowboys take on Charles Wright. Chimacum is currently in third, while the Tarriers are in first.
Todd Parmenter's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 50 points on the Vikings. Johnson in the win.
