The DC International Dragons will head out on the road to challenge the KIPP DC Legacy College Prep Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (DC International has three straight victories, the Bulldogs have three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, DC International faced the Lions in a battle between two of the state's top teams. DC International simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lions 52-16 on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as DC International just coasted through the last quarter.
It was another big night for Kai Davis, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine steals. She hasn't dropped below four steals for six straight games. Camille Larsen-Humphreys was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Meanwhile, KIPP DC Legacy College Prep was the victim of a rough 33-9 loss at the hands of the Panthers on Friday.
DC International has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for KIPP DC Legacy College Prep, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
DC International didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Bulldogs in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 40-35 victory. Will DC International repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
