Basketball Recap: Mitchell Piles Up the Points Against Pike Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mitchell). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Pike Central Chargers 75-47. This was payback for the Bluejackets, who suffered an 80-63 loss the last time these two teams met.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jiles Mason, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Mason is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Eli Keeker, who posted nine points.

Mitchell's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Pike Central, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Mitchell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 78-62 victory against Franklin County on the 27th. As for Pike Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-42 win against Shoals on the 27th.
