Baseball Recap: Fort Bend Bush Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Fort Bend Bush's offense. They came up short against the Cypress Lakes Spartans on Friday, falling 11-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-4 last Thursday.

Fort Bend Bush saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nicholas Maldonado, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Maldonado is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Fort Bend Bush's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Cypress Lakes, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

Coming up, Fort Bend Bush will take on Alief Hastings in a tournament on Saturday. The Broncos are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Cypress Lakes, they will be taking part in a tournament against Northbrook at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
