It was a good run, but the City College Black Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to Carver Vo-Tech. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Dorrian Sands was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with eight rebounds and two steals for Carver Vo-Tech. Sands hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Desmond Handon was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
City College's defeat ended a 17-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Carver Vo-Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
City College will take on Benjamin Franklin at TBD on Tuesday. As for Carver Vo-Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Poly at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Poly is ranked 82nd, while Carver Vo-Tech is ranked 65th).
