The Midland Classical Academy Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight defeat. The contest between them and Covenant Christian wasn't particularly close, with Midland Classical Academy falling 59-45. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Midland Classical Academy in their matchups with Covenant Christian: they've now lost four in a row.
AJ Guerra was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and five steals for Covenant Christian. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Boughton, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Midland Classical Academy's defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-24. As for Covenant Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 22-7.
Midland Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Covenant Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pantego Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Covenant Christian is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Texas (they are ranked 178th, while Pantego Christian is ranked 729th).
