After a string of four wins, the Washington Huskies's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 80-73 to Kennedy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (55), Washington still had to take the loss.
Washington lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eshaan Brar, who scored 22 points. Brar hasn't dropped below 15 points for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dru Anaya, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists.
Washington struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Kennedy pulled down 21 offensive rebounds.
Will Dorsey was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds for Kennedy. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dorsey has scored all season. Adrian Velazquez was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 19 rebounds.
Washington's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7. As for Kennedy, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Washington will be playing in front of their home fans against Moreau Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Washington is on a 11-game streak of home wins, Moreau Catholic a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Kennedy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Newark Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th. Newark Memorial is coming into the contest with four straight defeats on the road, meaning Kennedy will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
