Independence lost to Piedmont Hills on the road by a decisive 33-15 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Independence in their matchups with Piedmont Hills: they've now lost four in a row.
Dylan Blank was on fire for Piedmont Hills: he rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown. Alex Tran was another key contributor, throwing for 126 yards and two touchdowns.
Independence now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Piedmont Hills, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-5.
Independence will take on Silver Creek at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Piedmont Hills, they will head out on the road to face off against Gilroy at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Gilroy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
