Miyamura can attribute much of their success to Juan Arellano, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 11 points and five steals. Those 11 points gave Arellano a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tateyn Silversmith, who scored six points and seven rebounds.
Bernalillo's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Miyamura, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Looking ahead, Bernalillo will be taking part in a tournament against Pojoaque Valley at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. As for Miyamura, they will take on Cleveland in a tournament on Thursday.
