The Cathedral Fighting Irish were the 45-37 winner over the Carmel Greyhounds when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Cathedral fell to Carmel 38-34.
Cathedral lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Taylor Lewis, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Catherine Cline, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Cathedral's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-11. As for Carmel, they pushed their record up to 10-11 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Cathedral will take on Lawrence North at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lawrence North presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cathedral in Indiana (Lawrence North is ranked fourth, while Cathedral is ranked 74th). As for Carmel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ben Davis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Ben Davis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
