Bishop Snyder has enjoyed a six-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Middleburg Broncos at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Bishop Snyder earned a 51-43 victory over Clay.
It was another big night for Asya Jones, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Jones is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tara Crews, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Middleburg had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They skirted past Impact Christian Academy 38-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Middleburg has posted yet this season.
Bishop Snyder's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Middleburg, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Everything came up roses for Bishop Snyder against Middleburg in their previous matchup back in December of 2020 as the team secured a 55-11 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop Snyder since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
