The West Lafayette Red Devils will face off against the Faith Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Lafayette is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, West Lafayette made easy work of Lafayette Central Catholic and carried off a 20-3 win. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Megan Creech was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with five RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Stella Bates, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Eleanor Hurt was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
West Lafayette kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Attica hit Faith Christian with a four-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles came up short against the Red Ramblers, falling 13-3.
Faith Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keely Frier, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
West Lafayette's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Faith Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
Faith Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Lafayette has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Faith Christian, though, as they've been averaging 12 hits. Given West Lafayette's sizable advantage in that area, the Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
