Regis Jesuit barely beat Ponderosa the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Mustangs on Wednesday. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
Ryan Neumann looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025.
At the plate, Eli Shappee was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Chase Massey, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Castle View hadn't done well against Rock Canyon recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Sabercats walked away with a 7-4 win over the Jaguars. The victory continues a trend for the Sabercats in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won three in a row.
Jack Carmichael looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cole Cates, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Castle View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Regis Jesuit's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Castle View, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.
Castle View's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Regis Jesuit has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .484. It's a different story for Castle View, though, as they've only averaged .357. Will they be able to contain Regis Jesuit's hitters?
