The Seiling Wildcats put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Southwest Covenant 52-28. Considering Seiling has won eight matches by more than 23 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
When it comes to explaining why Southwest Covenant lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nate Gerber. Despite the final result, he threw for 395 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt. Trace Brunk also helped out as he racked up 132 receiving yards.
Seiling's win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Southwest Covenant, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Seiling will be playing at home against Alex at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Alex will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Seiling is ranked first). As for Southwest Covenant, they will head out on the road to face off against Wilson at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th.
