In what's become a running theme this season, the Kellogg Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They claimed a resounding 58-20 win over St. Maries at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Kellogg has managed all season.
It was another big night for Macy Jerome, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Emily Coe was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, St. Maries saw an underclassman step up: Raevyn Yearout scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, St. Maries struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Kellogg racked up 14 assists.
Kellogg is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for St. Maries, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Kellogg won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lakeland at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Lakeland is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for St. Maries, they will head out on the road to challenge Orofino at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Orofino is ranked 116th, while St. Maries is ranked 127th).
