5A Conference 15 recap November 13, 2013
Aubrey Wilson of Massaponax ran for the longest rushing play in 5A Conference 15 this season against Brooke Point last week. Wilson scampered for 85 yards on the play and finished with 179 on the day as his team topped the Black Hawks.
Massaponax extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Brooke Point, 61-41. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
The Panthers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Alphonzo Trice threw for 31 and 1 touchdown and C. J. Lewis had 20 yards receiving. On the ground Wilson chipped in 179 yards.
Wilson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Massaponax beat Jeff Berry's team.
Wilson was the most successful running back in the league this week. Trice also contributed to the rushing game with 74 yards on the ground.
Massaponax's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Trice has thrown for 613 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while A. J. Forbes has 10 catches for 238 yards.
An important game coming up in 5A Conference 15 this week will be when Mountain View takes on Potomac. As it stands, the Wildcats are in third, while the Panthers are in fourth.
Potomac made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,873 from 4,251. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 27-13 victory over Freedom last week.
