Basketball Recap: Centennial Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Centennial extended their winning streak to four on Saturday, bumping them up to 8-1. They skirted past the Middleton Vikings 48-45. Those 48 points were actually the fewest the Patriots have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Centennial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tobin Knudson, who posted 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Knudson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Gabe Eddins, who scored 17 points and six boards.

As for Middleton, they dropped their record down to 3-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Centennial is ranked fifth).

Despite the loss, Middleton still got an impressive performance from David Salisbury, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Robbie Baird, who shot 50% from the field en route to 13 points.

Centennial has already played their next matchup, a 56-40 win against Borah on the 6th. As for Middleton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-44 victory against Columbia on the 7th.
