You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Fairmont's strategy against Springfield on Wednesday. The Fairmont Firebirds blew past the Springfield Wildcats 65-40. The Firebirds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 23 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Janiyah Hargrave, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds. Nico Cornett was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Fairmont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Fairmont pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Springfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.
