After flying high against the Niobrara County Tigers on Friday, the Burns Broncs came back down to earth. Burns fell to Pine Bluffs 37-31. Burns was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pine Bluffs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Several Broncs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Griess, who scored eight points along with three steals. Brooke Hansen was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Burns' defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Pine Bluffs, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burns will take on Lingle-Fort Laramie at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Lingle-Fort Laramie is coming into the contest with five straight wins on the road, so Burns is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Pine Bluffs, they will be playing at home against Niobrara County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Wyoming (Pine Bluffs is ranked 25th, while Niobrara County is ranked 45th).
