Hancock County is 0-3 against Warren East since May of 2016 but things could change on Saturday. The Hornets will challenge the Raiders at 11:40 a.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.
On Thursday, Hancock County made easy work of Tell City and carried off a 9-3 victory. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Ryleigh French spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aubree Mosby, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Audrey Carnes also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hancock County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.6.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Warren East, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Elizabethtown an 8-0 shutout on Friday. The Raiders have beaten the Panthers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Panthers has come to flipping the script.
Not much got past Autumn Brooks, who gave up just two hits to keep Elizabethtown off the board. Brooks has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Warren East saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Jones, who went 3-for-5 with two runs.
Hancock County's record now sits at 17-9. As for Warren East, their record is now 16-14.
Hancock County suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Warren East when the teams last played back in May of 2018. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
