The Nova Titans will venture away from home to face off against the NSU University Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Nova 3.9, NSU University 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Nova gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Mater Lakes Academy 5-4. That's two games straight that the Titans have won by just one run.

Jaiden Delgado made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Angelo Rivas, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Cody Kunca was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Nova was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mater Lakes Academy only posted a batting average of .214.
Meanwhile, NSU University came tearing into Thursday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Sharks, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Logan Hallaran looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk).
On the hitting side, Griffin Pomper was a standout: he scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Combs, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
NSU University pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Nova, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Nova has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. However, it's not like NSU University struggles in that department as they've averaged .507. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Nova suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to NSU University when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Nova avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
