Wellsboro is 8-1 against Williamson since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Hornets will host the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Wellsboro's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Williamson has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Wellsboro came out on top against Athens on Sunday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Hornets took their game against the Wildcats 8-5.
Maxwell Mascho made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over 4.1 innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Wellsboro is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 7-8 otherwise. Mascho was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Wellsboro is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Williamson, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
Williamson's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wellsboro hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. It's a different story for Williamson, though, as they've only averaged .215. Will they be able to contain Wellsboro's hitters?
Wellsboro took their win against Williamson in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 26-0 score. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
