4A Cowapa recap October 22, 2013
Banks extended the longest winning streak in 4A Cowapa this week by beating Astoria, 29-0. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Banks took down the Fishermen 29-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Garrett Markham threw for 197 yards and ran for 123 yards during the win.
Markham was the best running back in the league this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 123 yards as Ben Buchanan's team lost to Yamhill-Carlton. Jarod Barger also contributed to the rushing game with 38 yards on the ground.
Scappoose's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Taylor Loss has thrown for 1,699 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Justice Oman has 46 catches for 778 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Astoria takes on Scappoose. Howard Rub's team is currently in fifth, while the Indians are in second.
