The Rockland Bulldogs will face off against the Camas County Mushers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Rockland sitting on seven straight victories and Camas County on six.
Rockland had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their contest at home on Saturday with ease, bagging a 70-12 victory over Tri-Valley. The result was nothing new for Rockland, who have now won seven games by 28 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Teague Matthews, who rushed for 244 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 166 yards and three touchdowns. Matthews was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards. Aidan Radford did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 96 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Rockland's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Eli Hendrickson and Cody Woodworth who racked up five sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Camas County faced Garden Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Camas County claimed a resounding 70-13 win over Garden Valley on the road. The result was nothing new for Camas County, who have now won eight matchups by 38 points or more so far this season.
Rockland pushed their record up to 7-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 48.67 points. As for Camas County, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Rockland was dealt a bruising 62-12 loss at the hands of Camas County in their previous meeting back in August. Can Rockland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
