The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 26-24, 25-22.
Meanwhile, Lincoln faced Mitchell in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Patriots walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Kernels. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Kernels recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Lincoln had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-11, 25-11, 25-22.
Huron better focus on containing Camila Langenfeld and Julia Blom as the pair were huge in Lincoln's win. Langenfeld had 17 digs, 14 kills, and three aces, while Blom had 15 digs and two aces. Those 17 digs gave Langenfeld a new career-high.
Lincoln was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.
Huron's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
Huron couldn't quite get it done against Lincoln in their previous meeting back in August as they fell 2-0. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
