Wise is 10-0 against Suitland since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Wise Pumas will head out on the road to face off against the Suitland Rams at 7:15 p.m. Hopefully Wise focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Thursday.
Wise had to kick off their season on the road, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 57-47 win over Flowers.
Wise relied on the efforts of Alexis Obase, who scored 8 points along with 14 rebounds, and Marcus Rustin, who scored 14 points along with 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Justin Ware, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Suitland ended up a good deal behind Bowie on Thursday and lost 66-48.
Wise's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Suitland, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Wise came out on top in a nail-biter against Suitland in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 62-59. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wise since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
