North Posey will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Castle extended their winning streak to three on Saturday. The Knights came out on top against Jeffersonville by a score of 7-2.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, North Posey made sure to put some runs up on the board against Edgewood on Saturday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 14-7 margin over the Mustangs. Considering the Vikings have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Dylan Murphy was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Mansfield, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Grant Cullman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
North Posey was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
North Posey has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Castle, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.
