The Edison Golden Bears''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 40-14 loss at the hands of Burbank. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Edison in their matchups with Burbank: they've now lost six in a row.
Keven Hernandez was his usual excellent self, rushing for 147 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 101 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Johnny Alvarado, who gained 130 total yards and two touchdowns.
Edison's loss was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. As for Burbank, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Edison will head out on the road to face off against Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jefferson will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. As for Burbank, they will be playing at home against Lanier at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
