In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Waylan Marshall, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Logan Carpenter, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI.
Potlatch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clearwater Valley only managed seven hits.
Meanwhile, Troy suffered their closest loss since May 17, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Kendrick by a score of 5-3. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Dominic Holden was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Potlatch pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Troy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Potlatch has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Troy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Potlatch's way against Troy in their previous matchup on Tuesday, as Potlatch made off with a 10-2 victory. Do the Loggers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
