The Handley Judges will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Fauquier Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Handley will be strutting in after a win while Fauquier will be coming in after a loss.
In what's become a running theme this season, Handley gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Rock Ridge 63-21 on the road. Given Handley's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Rock Ridge is ranked 199th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Fauquier unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 58-23 loss at the hands of Meridian. Fauquier was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-9.
Handley pushed their record up to 11-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Fauquier, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.
Everything came up roses for Handley against Fauquier in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 as the team secured a 78-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Handley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
