The Woodstock Academy Centaurs will challenge the Rockville Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Woodstock Academy comes in on three and Rockville on seven.
On Friday, Woodstock Academy got the win against Capital Prep by a conclusive 3-0.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Woodstock Academy was: they took every set by at least 20 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-3, 25-5, 25-4.

Woodstock Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Evan Chernik led the charge by getting 14 aces. Those 14 aces gave Chernik a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Weston Mission, who had 12 assists.
They weren't the only good server: Woodstock Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 29 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive matchups.
Rockville had won four straight home games and Wesley Foo did his part to make it five on Friday. Everything went the Rams' way against Civic Leadership as they made off with a 3-0 win with plenty of help from Foo, who had ten digs and two assists. With that strong performance, Chernik is now averaging an impressive 3.1 aces per game.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Rockville took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-9, 25-15.
Woodstock Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Rockville, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's contest: Woodstock Academy has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 12 aces per game. However, it's not like Rockville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Woodstock Academy suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Rockville when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Centaurs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
