Wewahitchka came tearing into Friday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Munroe Bobcats with a sharp 18-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Gators, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Rhemy Patrick and Landon Whitten made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Patrick tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Whitten pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Patrick a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At bat, Patrick went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple, while Whitten scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Wewahitchka got a massive performance out of Walker Bailey, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Bailey has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Jakwavian Gray was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Wewahitchka hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in nine consecutive games.

Wewahitchka's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.2 runs over those games. As for Munroe, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Wewahitchka has already played their next match, a 7-2 defeat against Sneads on the 1st. As for Munroe, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-4 win against Crossroad Academy on the 1st.
