Gloucester City has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Haddonfield Bulldawgs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Gloucester City's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four games.
Even though Middle Township scored an imposing 34 points on Friday, Gloucester City still came out on top. Gloucester City won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Middle Township 35-34. 35 seems to be a good number for Gloucester City as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Gloucester City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Widman, who rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Seibert, who threw for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Haddonfield entered their tilt with Raritan with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Haddonfield put the hurt on Raritan with a sharp 31-7 victory on Friday. Considering Haddonfield has won six matches by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Haddonfield can attribute much of their success to Declan McCarthy, who threw for 260 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes, and Dom Hahn, who gained 189 total yards and two touchdowns. Hahn was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 60 yards.
Gloucester City's victory was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.4 points per game. As for Haddonfield, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Gloucester City barely slipped by Haddonfield in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, winning 14-13. Does Gloucester City have another victory up their sleeve, or will Haddonfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
