On Sunday, The Coventry Oakers faced the Tolman Tigers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Coventry suffered a rough 28-8 loss at the hands of Tolman. Coventry lost against Tolman in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 20-6 score last time.
Tolman can attribute much of their success to Noah Taylor, who threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns. Joseph Dacruz also helped out with an impressive 87 receiving yards.
Coventry's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Tolman, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coventry will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against West Warwick at 6:30 p.m. on November 3rd. West Warwick will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. As for Tolman, they will head out on the road to face off against Johnston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Johnston will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
