This season hasn't been kind to the Colome Cowboys, who are still winless after their 11th contest. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 87-65 walloping at the hands of Jones County on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (63), Colome still had to take the loss.
Jones County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jett Nix out in front who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nix has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Feddersen, who scored 17 points along with five assists and five steals.
Colome's defeat was their seventh straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-11. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points per game. As for Jones County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Colome will be playing at home against Platte/Geddes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jones County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lyman at 8:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
