The Villa Grove Blue Devils will challenge the Fisher Bunnies at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Villa Grove will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Villa Grove came out on top against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 13-run first inning. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 14-4 victory. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Isabella Dodd was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Villa Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .619. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .419 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Fisher got their first taste of in-conference action on Wednesday and they started things off strong. They had just enough and edged out El Paso-Gridley 8-7. The win continues a trend for the Bunnies in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won eight in a row.
Olivia Jackson was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. McKenzie Miller was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Fisher's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Villa Grove has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. It's a different story for Fisher, though, as they've only averaged .335. Will they be able to contain Villa Grove's hitters?
Everything went Villa Grove's way against Fisher when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Villa Grove made off with a 19-4 victory. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bunnies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
