Even though the Concord Christian Lions scored an imposing 82 points on Thursday, the Lakeway Christian Academy Lions still came out on top. Lakeway Christian Academy narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Concord Christian 84-82. This was a revenge match for Lakeway Christian Academy, as the team was forced to settle for a 75-69 loss when these two played last Thursday.
Concord Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Drew Sloan, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sloan has scored all season. Cale Smith was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds.
Lakeway Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Concord Christian, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-11.
Lakeway Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Concord Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-59 loss vs. Christian Academy of Knoxville on the 10th.
