Pine Grove came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wheeler Eagles a 6-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past Doss Brewer, who gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Wheeler off the board. Brewer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Talen Wilkerson was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Ayden Jones was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

Pine Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Pine Grove's record now sits at 13-9. As for Wheeler, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.

Pine Grove will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
