The Lutheran Lions will take on the Green Mountain Rams at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lutheran is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Lutheran fell victim to Chaparral and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Payden Joyce was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Green Mountain sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Bear Creek on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Caden Kelly tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits.

At the plate, Green Mountain saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was DJ Villalovas, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Orlando King also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Green Mountain now has a winning record of 3-2-1. As for Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Lutheran has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Green Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.2 hits.
