The Treutlen Vikings will challenge the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Treutlen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Treutlen is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over Warner Robins on Monday. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Ella Roberson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Roberson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Jayden Rogers and Maya Brinson did most of the damage at the plate: Rogers got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Brinson went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Brinson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cloey Hutcheson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Treutlen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for McIntosh County Academy's offense. They lost 15-0 to Screven County on Tuesday. The Buccaneers have struggled against the Gamecocks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Treutlen is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for McIntosh County Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-19.
Treutlen took their win against McIntosh County Academy in their previous meeting last Monday by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Buccaneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
