Cardinal Gibbons made up a huge gap compared to their last game against East Chapel Hill, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went Cardinal Gibbons' way against East Chapel Hill on Friday as Cardinal Gibbons made off with a 15-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Crusaders considering their one-run performance the contest before.
The team relied heavily on Bridget Mazzo, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She also put up a home run, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sophie Cygnarowicz, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Cardinal Gibbons always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Chapel Hill only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Enloe was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They lost 10-2 to Wakefield. The Eagles have struggled against the Wolverines recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meetings.
Avery Modlin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and eight unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Enloe saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Thompson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cardinal Gibbons hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .402. However, it's not like Enloe struggles in that department as they've averaged .358. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
