The Prout Crusaders will face off against the South Kingstown Rebels at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Prout is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Prout turned things around against Smithfield on Monday. They came out on top against the Sentinels by a score of 9-5.

Lucy Kaiser made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Kaiser was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Kelsea Flaherty was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Mia Boyajian, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Prout kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, South Kingstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 9-5 to Scituate.

Abigail O'Rourke was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Abigail O'Connor also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

South Kingstown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Prout, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Prout might still be hurting after the 10-1 loss they got from South Kingstown when the teams last played back in June of 2021. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
