The Marion Center Stingers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 90-79 hit to the loss column at the hands of Conemaugh Valley. Even though they lost, Marion Center's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.3 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite the loss, Marion Center still got an impressive performance from Evan Risinger, who scored 29 points along with five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Risinger has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kamden Rozier, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Marion Center were working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Marion Center has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Conemaugh Valley, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-1.
Marion Center won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Purchase Line at 7:15 p.m. on January 18th. Purchase Line is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
