On Saturday, The Burlington School Spartans faced the Northside Christian Academy Knights in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Burlington School walked away with a 56-46 win over Northside Christian Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for The Burlington School.
The Burlington School found their leader in underclassman King Gibson, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. Zion Walker was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Northside Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Jaleel Smith scored 17 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Another player making a difference was KJ Shouse Jr., who scored eight points.
The Burlington School is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Northside Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8.
The Burlington School on the road again on Monday and play against Greenfield at 2:30 p.m. on January 15th. Greenfield has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,703 points over their last 21 games. As for Northside Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Gaston Day at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gaston Day is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 70.9 points per game.
