Farmington has won seven straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Rosemount has won seven straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Tigers will welcome the Irish at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Farmington's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Lakeville North with a sharp 7-0 victory. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
The result came thanks to Kayla Schweich's shutout, as she gave up just a hit.
On the hitting side, Kayley Schuenemann was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Madison Westover was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Rosemount sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over Hastings on Saturday.
Jorey Fry was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harper Chappuis, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ella Erickson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
